Christ taught us to love our enemies and not to put ourselves in the place of honor at the table. How, then, can Western Christians justify using-up 80% of the world's resources, generating much of the world's pollution, and in turn, causing much economic and social pain?

Jesus, and the early Church had a solution: it was to live simply and in harmony with others by taming their rapacious egos and putting others first - a hard job in twenty-first century consumer culture!

Some people see the concept of simple living as a romantic or nostalgic avocation. However we are likely to find, like the early Church, that living simply can be difficult and risky as well, because it flies in the face of our culture. This site is therefore designed to help and support all who care to follow Christ into a smaller, more just and sustainable world.
